Concept fly i am trying to make. Material used is highly hydrophobic and light so it may be good option for wings. There are some obvious downsides and probably some other characteristics i havent considered. You are more than welcome to share your thoughts. Cheers Vladimir

In this video i am doing a short review of a fly combo. Affordable and very nicely built and put together. i would recommend it to: - If you need a spare rod - for a kid - for a beginner here is an affiliate link, i do get small commision while your price remains the same. kylebooker.com/collections/rod/products/kylebooker-fly-fishing-combo-kit-3-4-5-6-7-8-weight-starter-fly-fishing-rod-and-ree...

Oh yes...this is a fish catcher...definitely gonna be tying up some of these beauties !....thanks for sharing Vladimir...very helpful tips as usual
Nice!! Tight lines🐜🐛🕷️!!!!
Thank you so much for watching. Cheers 🍻
Nice ty!! Is there a recipe there somewhere? Tight lines🕷️🐛🐜!!!!!
@@robertperman8967 thanks. If you mean materials list, there is not. I never show it. I just explain what i use as i tie the fly because i prefer to explain my reasoning. Just watch it whole wnd i will mention it all as i tie
Thank you so very much for your instructions. I am new to fly tying and was happy to find you with so many videos out there. Your attention to detail and easy to follow steps are a welcome addition.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I am happy to help. Glad my video format is giid for you, and others of course. Cheers Vladimir
They are offset or “Jigoff” beads.
@@andyk914 both names are correct
Beautifully done !!! Thanks!!
@@wvlongshooter3912 thank you so much 🍻🍻
Lovely fly tied to a solid formula. I’ll bite the bullet and buy some off beads and give them a go. I’ve been using copper wire on jig hooks to form a sphere and get the weight upfront.. it worked last week on the Finkausee grayling. So did a Dynamite Harry picked by my daughter..
@@robgreen6697 its just more convenient using them than regular beads. Especially on regular hooks because these can invert any hook you want
Bead sets oddly on to of head. What beads slotted?
@@michaelterry1147 this is jig off bead. Different kind
Nice jig nymph Vlad. I think it's time to treat yourself to a new bodkin or file your current one. Your friend is getting a nice grouping of consistently tied flies. Bravo.
@@Adipper thanks. I guess i will just file this one. I am emotionally attached to it. Its from first tool set i have ever bought. 😀
@@Oholisfliesandfishing Totally understand Vlad!! It is a “Wabi-Sabi” bodkin (beautiful imperfection from use).
@@Adipper exactly 😀😀, i know there are better. But i love this one 😀
@@Oholisfliesandfishing how about just sharpening the tip up on some fine grit grade emery-type paper that's used for metal polishing?
@@Tjk186 that's what i do sometimes. Stone for knife sharpening is near me.... Its just that i forget about it. 😀
Thanks. Usefull vidoe as always ❤
@@SM3TEK-Lars thanks for your comment. Glad you like it 🍻🍻😀
How do I get in touch with you?
@@michaelterry1147 i left my link in one of your previous comments
How does one get hold of you tried Instagram but no luck?

Thank you for information on biots.
You are most welcome. Cheers 🍻
@@Oholisfliesandfishingdidn’t know what platform the above is as tried Instagram haven’t tried gmail
Dobre rano Vladimir. You definitely have a touch with those biot feathers, it’s pretty challenging for me. Maybe some more practice with them will help. Tails and antennas are ok, but wrapping a nice looking abdomen is where I struggle a bit. Always nice watching and learning from you. Ciao
Hello 👋, thank you. What is the problem with biots? They break to you? Send me few photos of biot flies you don't like. Maybe i can figure out whats wrong oholidzo@yahoo.com
@@Oholisfliesandfishing Hi Vladimir. Yes, I break them constantly, they seem too small to work with and did I say that I break them all the time? I’ll send a couple pics when I can, I’ve been busy rebuilding my deck and I put my trout stuff away for the summer. My friends and I have switched to saltwater fishing now. Thank you for being ready to help so quickly. Stay well, keep the line tight and I’ll get back with pics in the near future. Cheers my friend.
What is thier habitat range? Do they live in the entire region or just a few rivers
I think in certain range. Not sure they are even native there. But some rivers have amazing population of them. Not whole Qingling mountin range. Just some parts
This is an excellent video, thank you, V. Love your confirmation that it's really about presentation, we can go with fewer varieties of flies in our boxes and work on fishing them well.
Thanks so much. I can go literally with one fly as long as i have it in range of sizes and weights.
Hey, what is the Name of the Bird at 3.50?
Its capercaillie. I have male and female
@@Oholisfliesandfishing Tetra in French, almost extinct in my countries but a nice Feather to work with!
Same in serbia. Almost extinct@@icedaft

Your fly tying videos are simply top notch - keep 'em coming!
Thanks so much. There is a lot of room for improvement. I am trying to figure out voiceovers. It would make them a bit shorter and more to the point.
Very beautiful! Thank you for your work you put into making these videos.
Thank you for your kind comment. Cheers 🍻
Thanks for all the explanations , great video, nice flies!
Thank you so much. Cheers. 🍻🍻😀
Nice ty!! Tight lines🐛🐜🕷️!!!!!
Thanks so much. Tight lines 🍻
Brilliant, and back to the Saturday schedule! Cheers
Thank you so much. I was struggling to find inspiration what to record. Sometimes it is not an easy task 😀
Another excellent video. You're easily in the top 5 flytyers who upload to UA-cam.
Thank you so much. Can you tell me your top 5 choice? I imagine tighhtlines, troutbitten, Kelly, George must be there?
@@Oholisfliesandfishing The other ones I watch regularly are Davie McPhail, Barry Ord Clarke, Piotr Soltysik, Kelly Galloup. I find the likes of Fly Fish Food, Troutbitten and Tim Cammisa a bit hard to listen to for anything longer than a few minutes. Their presentation styles seem very insincere or fake to me.
@bobmorgan6333 i know what you mean. Thank you so much for your compliment. Being considered as top 5 is big deal for me 🍻
Very good information to know, thanks! Tight line🕷️🐜🐛!!!!!
Thank you. Glad you find it useful. Cheers 😀
Very good explanation of the use of different biots. Thanks for your videos always .
Glad you find it useful. Cheers
Thanks for a awesome instructions on biots and barbs.. You are awesome
Thank you for your kind comment. Tight lines 🍻
The first Feather Mechanic is very inspiring reading. I’ve tied an updated klink for grayling fishing in Austria and now will tie a hares ear specifically for the grayling that sit at the inlets just on the edge of the deeper water. Once I get down there I’ll see if these new flies are more effective than the black klink and copper wire hares ears and ptns. Thanks for the tip thatched me to get theses books.
Glad you enjoyed them. I love boks. Regarding flies....i love tying new flies and testing them. Thats probably something i enjoy the most 🍻
How might I obtain a copy of Pablo Castro's book and what is the title? Hope printed in English! BTW==well done video
Hi Colin, thank you for your compliment. Unfortunately i have no idea how to get his book. Sorry 🍻
Why not call it Condor biot instead of Condor substitute?
Simply because on the package it says Condor substitute. Plus Condor is probably protected so using it wouldn't be ethical.
Excellent instruction, as always! Much appreciated and admired …
Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed it 🍻🍻
Thanks for the reply will have a go at tying it.
You are welcome. Enjoy tying qnd fishing it 🍻
Great looking fly ! I will tie some up 👍. Very good explanation thank you, I wish that your vise was as clean as the fly!
Thanks. Glad you like it. Best Vladimir 🍻🍻
Hi there nice fly, can you tell me the name of the dubbing on the head of the fly that you use instead of cdc, thanks.
Thanks. Thats kapok. Natural fiber thats super buoyant 👍
HI, which foam are you using for the second ant? It seems to have a much more open structure than regular EVA. Thanks in advance!
Hi, i think its called evazote foam. It is more hollow. It even pops when squeezed with thread. Unfortunately, i cant tell you brand because i got this from a friend. And it was taken literally from package for underwear from Japan. Maybe semperfli has some foam that is similar. All others i tried are not near this one.
Love your vids man. I think there's something to appreciate for all levels of tiers. Not sure if you golf, but you remind me a lot of John Rahm, both in looks, voice, and demeanor. Good stuff. cheers
Thanks so much. I was laughing so much when you told me i look like John Rahm... You aren't the only one saying that 🍻🤣 🍻 Best Vladimir
Awesomes! Thank you very much for teaching great technique! I endeavor to install your techniques as my building blocks. You have taught me so much, thank you!👌🙏

Nice fly you made that look very nice and easy going to have to try one
Glad you like it. All the best Vladimir 🍻
Very nice tying 👌! Thank you Vladimir for the tips !
Thank you so much my friend 🍻🍻
Nice. Like the tying off the herl on post
Thanks. I wanted to make as seamless body and thorax as possible
Can’t find peacock wing feathers anywhere near me. What do you suggest as an alternative?
Any biot is ok. Turkey biot probably most available and good. Dont worry about exactly the same materials
Nice one Vlad. At the beginning of video you were casting and hooked a fish. I did not catch the name, what species?
Thanks. Its called army fish here in china. But spinibarbus caldwelli should give you results on Google. 😀🍻
@@Oholisfliesandfishing Thanks Vlad. Good tying, enjoy.
Awesome tips. Thank you. 🎣
Thanks for watching 🍻🍻
Sería recomendable reforzar el pavo real con unas vueltas de un fino tinsel metálico para hacer la mosca más resistente??
Hola! No uso ningún metal. O cualquier alambre. Solo envolví la línea GSP en el sentido de las agujas del reloj en la púa del Pavo real. Espero que la traducción sea precisa. Las mejores bendiciones Vladímir
